Sometimes, it's not easy to be a woman. There will always be people who think that some jobs are meant for men – whether it be leading a company or running an entire country. Here are a few 'women who are proving them wrong.

1. Angela Merkel:
Angela is not only the first woman to become chancellor of Germany, she's also the youngest! So far, her track record has been pretty good: unemployment has decreased and German economy is doing well. To top it all off, 75% of Germans have given her approval as a leader. Not bad for the daughter of a pastor and English teacher.

2. Amy Pascal:
It was Amy's cool leadership that saved Sony Pictures from sinking deeper into its string of movie flops. When she became Cochair of the company in 2006, Amy led the development and production of 12 number one films – including the ever popular Spider-Man trilogy.

3. Yan Cheung:
China's richest person is a woman. Beginning with the humble idea of recycling waste paper from the US, Yan Cheung built Nine Dragons Paper, a billion dollar company specialising in paper packaging. When CNN asked her how success has changed in her life, this was what she had to say: "I am still the same Cheung Yan. After I became the rich woman with such a size of wealth, one change I observed was there was more attention from the media."
