K-pop! Teenagers nowadays do not buy magazines like Teen or newspapers. Instead, they buy magazines about K-pop. They even buy tags and pin them on their bags to show that they love K-pop. I feel that they are spending money on unnecessary stuff. So what if you love K-pop? What do those people give you? Nothing! The K-pop singers will not care or give you a single cent if you were to injure yourself. They will not help you in anything. Who takes care of you when you are sick? Who gives you love when you are down? Who always asks you how your day was at school? They are your parents, not the K-pop singers. Parents give you care, concern, love and support you financially. However, do you pin a tag on your bag saying, "I love my family"? No. I hope teenagers will not forget about their parents.

Parents: The Real Superstars

I like the "Anak" song. It is a very touching song. It's true that parents sacrifice their lives for us. Only parents give us real love. Friends are just people we hang out with and talk with. Although friends may share their secrets with us, when there is a major problem we cannot find them. But, our parents will always be by our side and encourage us. They do not give up hope on us.

I agree with Lee De Yuan. I have been pondering over this matter for a very long time. Before the March holidays, I used to think, “My life would be nothing without Taylor Swift.” Then, I went to Bintan for a holiday. The weather was so hot that I got sunburnt. My head was too dry and my scalp started to peel. It was extremely painful and I cried the whole time. Daddy and Mummy were very worried. They calmed me down but I cried even louder. They showered me with care and love throughout the journey. When I came back from my holiday, I listened to Taylor Swift’s music. I realised that I was listening to a recorded voice. I wondered – if Taylor Swift had been in Bintan, would she have cared for me like Mummy and Daddy did? Would she have calmed me down? I don’t think so. She is still my favourite singer but Taylor Swift’s songs can never replace Daddy and Mummy’s love for me. That should apply to you, too. Thank you, Mummy and Daddy. I love you.

This is regarding the letter sent in by Lee De Yuan (March 2011 Letters). Firstly, on behalf of my fellow fans of K-pop, I would like to bravely declare that even though we admire our idols very much, in no way will they ever rank higher than our parents on our lists. I would like to add that though fans of K-pop may be crazy about their idols, they still love their parents very much. If their parents approve of their children liking K-pop, then what is the problem? Hey, my parents love 2NE1!
